The network will utilize the new Citizen Band Radio Service, or CBRS, featuring Cambium Network’s revolutionary 450 series of radios. Unlike the old CB (“breaker, good buddy!”) radios, CBRS uses state of the art technology to punch your favorite cat videos through dense trees. This is NOT 5G service, only very large operators like US Cellular and AT&T are working on that. Nor is this glorified Wifi. These radios are designed just for rural internet deployments like ours.

Did you know that the main connection between Seattle and San Francisco, the two largest technology centers in the world, runs right down interstate 5 through Medford? Applegate.Network is working with Data Center West to install a dedicated on-ramp just for us! With DSL or Cable, you sharing Internet with your neighbors You won’t even be sharing with other people from town!

The initial tower serving everyone will be located on the Applegate Ranch. While that will get us started, plans are in progress to install a solar-powered tower near the summit of Pennington Butte to provide even stronger signals to our valley. Stay tuned!
